Quality Engineer (Validation & Verification)
Position Summary:
This position is part of a team responsible for planning,
developing and executing verification & validation
tests for implanted medical device and accessory
software. Testing for this position is focused
at the system level (black box). The Software
Quality Engineering will also provide organizational
leadership in medical device software development
and validation “best practices”.
Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Plan and execute software validation activities in
support of implantable medical device systems and
accessories.
- Review requirements for testability and develop
software verification and validation plans
- Execute system level tests
- Write and release software V&V plans, protocols
and reports suitable for regulatory submissions
(FDA and International)
- Actively participate in software development
process as an independent reviewer and process
expert
- Participate in software issue resolution
- Perform risk management activities for software
- Drive software development “best practices” and
process improvement for medical devices
The person:
- BSEE, BS Software or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of software development or testing
- Energy, commitment to excellence, and ability
to work in a fast paced, technically skilled, startup
team.
- Experience in a software development process
for medical devices (Required)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
(Required)
- Working knowledge of FDA Guidelines and International
standards for software development, verification
and validation (Required)
- Technically able to execute system level tests
using appropriate tools.
