How it Works

The Renova-ST™ Cortical Stimulation System is designed to enhance recovery of stroke patients who suffer from hemiparesis (weakness loss of movement on one side of the body). During a stroke, portions of the brain are damaged. Neural pathways near to the damaged area will attempt to compensate for the loss of function, a concept called neuroplasticity. Cortical stimulation is delivered to this area to encourage and enhance neuroplasticity.
